The fascination with trains for me began when I was a little boy living near the railroad tracks in a small town in central Texas.  I'll never forget seeing the large diesel locomotive roll passed our house daily hauling various box cars of goods to unknown destinations.  I remember more than anything that size.  The noise and smell still remain distinct to my memory.

I remember later, having moved and grown older, playing on the tracks down the street.  Later, into my youth and as an adult my fascination with trains grew and grew, having ridden on trains in America as well as Europe and most recently traveling with my wife through Europe via train.
